KPI (Key Performance Indicator)

A KPI is a quantified measure agreed in advance that determines whether the work achieved its objective.

A KPI in a brief needs a number, a baseline and a timeframe. "Increase awareness" is an objective; "raise prompted awareness from 22% to 30% by Q4" is a KPI.

If nobody can name where the number will come from, it is not measurable and should not be in the brief as one.
